How to Find the Gold Medal Olympian Inside You

The 30th Summer Olympic Games 2012 in London are in full swing.  Olympic sports are showcase of athletic skills, competitive spirits and also nationalism, business and politics.

I have been watching swimming, gymnastics, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball among track and field and tennis. I like Taekwondo coming up soon.

These are world-class athletes in stunning record-setting performance pushing human potentials. Four years of preparation and trials finally pay off to land their shot at the game. The game is physically demanding  as well as mentally and psychologically challenging.

We all are probably impressed by their performance and thinking that we can't possibly achieve that kind of performance - too old, too young, out of shape, lack of talent, too tall, too short, etc.

On the contrary, you find many athletes find the sports they excel at and train in that sport. Not every athlete is good at every sport. You simply have to find THE ONE just for you in power, strength, agility, endurance, and technical skills.

You can also find many athletes overcoming serious injuries, illness, and struggling. They are human beings. They are just like us. Their story from hitting lows then transforming into highs is something to motivates us and inspires us. Every can find their Olympic Champion and Gold Medalist in them.

Beyond physical training and excellence, Olympic Games also spreads the mission of Olympic Spirit:

"to build a peaceful and better world in the Olympic Spirit which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play - Olympic Spirit strives to inspire and motivate the youth of the world to be the best they can be through educational and entertaining interactive challenges. Olympic Spirit seeks to instill and develop the values and ideals of Olympism in those who visit and to promote tolerance and understanding in these increasingly troubled time in which we live, to make our world a more peaceful place."
